Problem Statement
How might we raise awareness and improve access to mental health support for the AAPI community through culturally aware education and professional resources?
Proposed Solution
We aimed to build a mental health platform offering therapist and mental health resources to help the AAPI community find the right support without barriers and confusion.
Research
Secondary Research
Before diving into design, we spent time understanding the broader mental health landscape for the AAPI community to identify user pain points, common mental health conditions, and types of services people are turning to for support.
177 Research Surveys
We collected 177 responses across diverse demographics, including ethnicity, age, occupation, and location.
To better understand the community needs, we conducted data analysis on survey results across four key areas: pressure sources, social media use, support resources, and feature preferences.
65 UX Surveys
From 65 participants, our affinity analysis revealed that users want platforms that feel easy to use. Common needs included self-help tools, a sense of community, and access to professional support.
12 Interviews
We interviewed 12 individuals, some with and some without prior experience using mental health platforms. They emphasized the need for streamlined features, professional help, and ways to connect with similar-minded people.
6 Competitors
We conducted a competitive analysis of 6 mental health platforms focusing on content offerings and access to professional support to address key constraints and guide feature recommendations.
Design
Style Guide
Green is closely tied to healing, balance, and mental health awareness. We used it intentionally to create a visual experience that feels calm and supportive.
Brand Symbol
I designed the brand logo and icon combine a calming lotus mark with soft typography to evoke a sense of serenity, healing, and cultural mindfulness.

Who We Are
We’re a cross-functional team across operations, UI/UX, engineering, and marketing, brought together by the Young Leaders Program at the Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce, with support from mentors at Google, Meta, and PagerDuty, to tackle our community’s greatest challenges.
What’s Next
Moving forward, we aim to continue iterating on our MVPs, further expand our therapist directory, and build partnerships with local mental health organizations and programs, such as Seattle Counseling and Wellness to broaden our impact.
